Perfect Make Up For A Perfect Look

Appreciate your own beauty and unique features with simple makeup and skin care. Professional and renowned make-up artist Bobbi Brown says Beauty should be REAL and APPROACHABLE. Find make-up tips here whether it's day to day or a night on the town.

Things You'll Need

  • Good Brush set
  • Concealer, foundation and powder
  • Timeless color palets for eyes and cheeks
  • Black Masacara
  • Tweezers
Step One 1

Shape up your brows and clean up stray hairs so your makeup will go on smoothly and look clean.

Step Two 2

Invest in a good set of make-up brushes. Look for ones made of sable and are hand trimmed. They may be a little pricey up front, but if you take care of them, they will last for YEARS!

Step Three 3

Find the right concealer and foundation for your skin tone. Go to the beauty counter where you can sample various shades and have help finding the right one for you. *Yellow based foundations complement skin rather than give an unnatural pink look.

Step Four 4

The key to looking beautiful and polished is having a great canvas. What I mean by that is, the most important part of your make-up application is evening out your skin-tone and making your complexion look as good as possible.

Step Five 5

Moisturize your face and use an creamy eye moisturizer. Let Moisturizer set in for a moment.

Step Six 6

Using a concealer brush, apply the concealer starting at the inner corners of eyes and working out along the bottom of the lash line, corners of nose and to an blemished/discolored areas. Using your ring finger, gently blend the concealer into your skin by tapping and gently . a second concealer with a peach tone may need to be applied if the skin around your eyes is really dark and greenish.

Step Seven 7

Now using a small blender brush, set the concealer with a matching loose powder. Try a creamy concealer kit that matches concealer powder to concealer cream like the one made by Bobbi Brown.

Step Eight 8

Next, Start your eye make-up. Choose a silky, matte formula to apply to your lids and use for defining brow bone. A matte white or Bone color works as a good base that can be used all over. Using an eye shader brush, tap your base color all over your eye lid.

Step Nine 9

Select your color of a shimmer shadow, a warm peach or pink if you like. Using the eye shadow brush, gently tap the shadow onto your lids.

Step Ten 10

If you like, Line your lids using an eye liner brush. Try either a dark mahogany or chocolate eye shadow as a liner, or a gel liner. Start on the inner corner of your top lash line and draw a thin line with your eye liner brush. Finish with a coat of mascara.

Step Eleven 11

Now using your selected color of blush, apply the blush to your blush brush. Tap your brush to remove excess powder. It's easier to add a few light layers of blush than to try to tone it down if you apply too much. No one wants clown cheeks! Grin to find your cheek bones. Starting at the apples of your cheeks, gently tap the blush onto your cheeks in an upward direction, towards your temples. Tap any remaining powder off your brush so it's basically clean. using the brush, make a few downward strokes to blend the blush for a natural look. For a pop of color, add a pink blush over your regular shade.

Step Twelve 12

Set all your make up with a light dusting of loose powder.

Step Thirteen 13

Apply your chosen lip product. Lip stick, shimmer gloss, lip balm. You can also apply a lip liner ON your lips for color and then blend with lip gloss.

Overall Tips & Warnings

  • Sometimes, all you need is to correct your complexion, using mositurizer, concealer and powder and then apply a coat of mascara and some lip gloss for a fresh natural look.
  • Shimmer gives your skin a great glow. You can apply it everywhere from your eyes, brow bones, cheeks, lips, chest, shoulders and legs (for a slimming and toning effect)
  • Less is best!
  • visit the cosmetics department to get ideas of what colors are right for you and then invest in some good makeup, or find what you like and then go buy a cheaper version of the same thing at the drug store.
  • Think about purchasing a make-up palett that comes with coordinating colors for a professional look.
